The complex transformer station was designed in the 1930ies to ensure the electrical power supply in Central Germany during wartimes. It is a listed building. The complex should be maintained as a singular building whilst enabling major industrial investments. The building enveloped was fully refurbished and the existing structure improved to accomodate the new technology. The centerpiece “Control Room” was carefully repaired and cleaned to establish a technical monument.
