Design and approval scheme for anchoring catenary systems on existing structures, Leipzig

Leipzig´s tram network is subjet to permanent maintenance works. Fixings to existing structures are in certain circumstances unavoidable due to the narrow street layout. The approval agencies require for each fixing a verification of the local and global load bearing capacity. In order to organise the approval economically a design alghoritm was developed and issued for approval to the “Landesstelle für Bautechnik”.
