Independent review by accredited design review engineers is an essential component of the construction project approval process. Engineers accredited by the supreme building control authorities are commissioned to carry out independent technical verification of construction projects in accordance with the four-eye principle.
The independent review of structural calculations and drawings ensures that buildings comply with all relevant standards and regulations, thereby providing a high level of assurance for human safety.
Dominik Förtsch is accredited by the supreme building authority—the Saxon State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development—as a Design Review Engineer for Structural Integrity in the fields of:
- Concrete and masonry construction (since 13 June 2024)
- Timber construction (since 18 December 2025)
As a design review office, we see ourselves as a partner to both the client and the design team. We are fully aware of the applicable framework conditions and project constraints and can draw on more than 30 years of professional experience in structural design and in the engineering supervision of construction projects.
Technical construction inspection includes the verification of structural calculations for load-bearing systems, the assessment of fire resistance of load-bearing components, and the review of the associated construction drawings. In addition, we are legally obliged to carry out random site inspections of the execution of load-bearing components.
Due to the location of our office, we are particularly available for inspection assignments in Saxony, Brandenburg, Berlin, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia. Inspections in other federal states can be arranged upon request.
